7 Great Reasons for Living Consciously

“Consciousness is the perception of what passes in man’s own mind.” - John Locke

Have you ever watched ants marching in search of food? If you have you probably noticed that they just follow one another in almost an endless game that just drones on and on. Does your life ever feel like an ant’s life? Does it seem as if you’re going from day to day, doing the same thing, the same way, just moving through the motions?

3 Simple Steps to Success

Once upon a time, there was a general who was leading his army into battle against an enemy ten times the size of his own. Along the way to the battle field, the troops stopped by a small temple to pray for victory.

The general held up a coin and told his troops, “I am going to implore the gods to help us crush our enemy. If this coin lands with the heads on top, we’ll win. If it’s tails, we’ll lose. Our fate is in the hands of the gods. Let’s pray wholeheartedly.”

Want to quit smoking? Try online quit smoking groups!

You may be a highly disciplined person in most areas of your life, but when you decide to quit smoking, it can be quite a challenge.

It’s easy for people who have never smoked to say “What’s the big deal? You know why you should quit. All you have to do is decide to quit and then do it!”

For a smoker, this sort of statement can be not only irritating, but downright discouraging. People who smoke know that it’s not so simple, and many try to quit smoking many times.

Now, with the recent addition of hefty taxes on tobacco products, and with more taxes on the horizon, smoking might have finally become financially unfeasible. What I hear from my clients is that if they can buy a pack for a few pennies less than $5 they think they are getting a good deal.

Statistics have shown that more people succeed when they have access to a support group. While there are groups that want to quit smoking that you can attend locally, they don’t usually have daily meetings. Another problem with local support groups is that you’ve got built-in excuses not to go. Excuses like “it’s raining, I’m tired, low on gas to drive there, etc”.

Exercise – The Natural Mental Health Secret

Exercise is one of my biggest passions in life. It is also one of the world’s greatest natural mental and physical health secrets. It’s like maintenance of your car that was emphasized in that old commercial that said “Pay me now or pay me later”. A healthy living program that includes regular exercise will stave off many of the diseases that seem to come with “old age”, whatever that is.

When I was a kid I didn’t think about exercise as something I needed to do, I just did it. I would go to the playground and play baseball or basketball. We would find an empty lot and play soccer or football. I walked everywhere, rode my bike, climbed trees and rode the skateboard I made out of a wooden board and steel skate wheels. Exercise came naturally. It wasn’t a health secret it was just something that happened naturally in my life.
